Hi, I’m Roblyn Powley—a designer and educator in Rochester, NY.
I hold an MFA in Visual Communication Design from Rochester Institute of Technology, where my graduate work has been recognized with a number of awards, including from Graphis and Design MasterPrize. I also hold undergraduate degrees in Interior Design (RIT) and Media & Communications from St. John Fisher University, where I received the Zelda Lyons Award for excellence in the humanities.
My work integrates visual systems, design history, and inclusive, research-driven message making. I love bold colors and big formats; I'm a typophile and a semiotics nerd.
I currently teach graphic design in higher education, where I try to build classrooms that feel curious, supportive, and grounded in design thinking.
I’m especially interested in how design can broaden narratives, clarify information, and contribute to more inclusive futures.
